I just registered fro the show and renewed my and my twins membership through paypal and it all went through very smoothly!
Now I just heard that folks from the east coast will need a phyto cert. to bring plants into Oregon. Is that true? If so then I won't be bringing any with me. But I plan on bringing lots home!

I know that when plants move from Canada to the US and vice versa you need a phyto, but I know that within Canada there is no problem with plants, just concern about things like Eurasian millefoil on boat propellers. You should probably contact your local agricultural department. Perhaps there is something on the government of Oregon website. It would be a real shame if you couldn't bring any plants to the show.

I just checked the Oregon Ag site and found lots of info. All plants from VT need to be certifies free of both gypsy moth and japanese beetles before they can be brought into Oregon!! What a drag.....no plants coming into the state, but I can tell you I'll be bringing lots of plants out of the state!!

I mentioned the plant problem to Maedythe. She said that the restriction might be only for plants that you bring into Oregon and not for plants that just come to visit the show. It might be worthwhile checking out. I was looking forward to seeing some of the treasures that you eastern folk grow!
